Supported by more than 70% of all General Practitioners in the Napier/Taradale area City Medical was founded in 1986 and has been on it’s present site since 1999.  It is located within the Napier Health Centre on Wellesley Street.

City Medical is a co-operative, privately owned and operated by more than 40 local doctors from the Napier/Taradale area. Doctors on hand at any time are a mix of staff doctors, locums, and rostered doctors from the local community. All of these professionals are committed to providing quality care that keeps you well and cares for you when you are unwell.

City Medical is supported by Te Whatu Ora Hawke’s Bay and Accident Compensation Commission and sees around 36,000 patients each year, often more than 100 per day.

Patients are seen in order of medical urgency rather than on order of arrival.
